Title: Just a laugh
Post by: Kaelianna on August 29, 2008, 12:28:34 PM
So, i went out to leave for work and my truck wouldn't start.  The battery wasn't kicking it over.  With all the other stress lately, I just went frantic.  I called my husband and he suggested I put he battery charger on it.  (Duh.... can you picture Patrick from SpongeBob in one of his catatonic states with drool dripping from the corner of his mouth?)

So grabbing the charger and still talking on the phone, I headed out the door.  Hanging up the phone, I set it down on the side of the engine and hooked up the charger.  (get where this might be going?)

So, yeah, got the truck to start, jumped out, pulled the charger off and closed the hood.  Threw my little guy inot his seat and took off for work.

12 miles to work plus a trip back out to the bank later.  Husband calls to ask if i got the truck going earlier and said he had tried to call before I left home.  And then it hit me.....

THE PHONE IS STILL UNDER THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK!!!!

Sure enough, went out, opened the hood and sheepishly pulled the phone out.

Thank God i can laugh at  myself.

ROFL....  wonder how far I would have gotten then.  But then again you see the pictures of the car driving down the interstate with a gas hose and nozzle sticking out of the gas tank.

Never done anything that bad... yet.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! GOod one Teuf!!! lmao Mom's car is a strange one imo.. thou I've not encountered something like this before but here goes:
Mom's car is an Nissan Altima and it has a security system. not a fancy one.. anyway.. if you run the battery down.. < leave the car lights on at a friends house > its very interesting trying to get in .. her key chain buttons thing don't even work so we wont go there.. The main key to the car will not open the car unless you turn the key twice to the right.. but with no power... wont work..

how to get in? well go to the passenger side of the car and open the door that way.. the alarm goes off... well no power .. so its a ticking ticking kinda thing.. ok car's open.. I pull my Cavalier over get the jumper cables ready.. attach my car up... while running.. ok np... attach to mom's ... Alarm blares like no one's business... ok. .great... trailer park ... peaceful Sunday morning ruined there.. "waves at neighbors  'Sorry!'" ok to shut up the car alarm... ok "Mom.. try to start the car"..its not starting.. good security system ... hmm.. aha!!! "Mom, get out of the car and activate the security system properly" .."what?!?" ... "get out of the car... ok now press the car lock < activates the security system > now shut the door..... keep keys on you.." .. ok now open the car the correct way.. key in..turn it twice to the right.. BINGO.. alarm stops.. ok now get in the car and start it... Vrrrrrummmm!! WOOT!

WE Did IT!!

FYI if you care type of thing  You could disconnect the battery cable from one side negitive works best then charge the battery.  then once its charged close the doors and get ready with no power the security system will forget that the door was open.  just close the door and have it locked before you reconnect power to it.

But i need a laugh so thanks.

ROFL,  sounds like yu have fun, Kru.  Our new (used) jeep if you unlock the passenger side door with the key (cause the nimrods who sold it didn't have any fobs) the alarm goes off.  Then you have to run around to the other side, unlock and open the drivers door, lock and close it again and unlock it with the key then the alarm quits.

Walmart parking lot middle of a saturday and here I am running around the jeep swearing at it.  Makes for quite the comedy routine.
