Well initially there was a short quest line that granted you the ability to use your flying mount in Northrend. That has since been changed to a one-time 1000g fee to learn "Cold Weather Flying" from a flying trainer. Their excuse is that it wasn't "intuitive" enough on where you go to start the quest for the flying. *shrug* I'd rather have done the quests, if you ask me...
You do NOT need to know swift flight to learn cold-weather flight. Meaning you won't have to have plunked down the 5k for the epic flight training in order to "learn" how to fly in Northrend. You WILL need to reach level 77 before this option becomes available, though.
I know lots of you have a problem with that, and so did I until I actually started leveling/questing in Northrend. As it is, I'm pretty happy they didn't allow us to have our mounts until 77, because if they had I would have missed a LOT. Not only is Northrend beautiful, but it is very well designed. Now I only use my flying mount when I'm gathering or long-distance flying. It's just always so pretty traveling on the ground. I think many of you will agree with me once you see it. :)
Anything on seige weapons?
Unfortunately I haven't gotten in to Wintergrasp yet, which is the PvP siege/battle zone. I'm level 79 now, and, while you can go there at level 77 or so, I wanted to wait until I was 80 and more or less fully effective.
Also, I'm on vacation from tomorrow until the 17th, so I won't be able to get any hands-on tidbits about that for you until after then.
they have an entire zone that's devoted to just pvp? that's sweet

I promise I'll try to get some personal experience with the whole shebang immediately after my vacation. :) It certainly sounds like a helluva lot of fun.
Of course, in the beta, it seems like Wintergrasp was the culprit behind several of the server crashes... :D
