This is for the more techie inclined. Don't laugh at what I have, it's worked fine til now. :P
Running a Dell Dimension E510 with all the specs you can find on the Dell site, plus 2gigs of RAM and a Radeon x600 256 hypermemory. Has a 305W power supply.
Was looking at a cheap upgrade on vid card and power supply <obviously cause it won't power too much of an upgrade with what I have atm>
Power supply I'm looking into

Video card I'm looking into

My funds are rather tight, so keep that in mind when responding.
Thanks
The power supply link took me to a list of several. I will say that CoolerMaster and OCZ are two pretty good brands, IMO, so if either of those were what you were looking at, I'd give them a think. 600W SHOULD be enough to power everything provided you don't have an excessive amount of extras hooked up to your system (extra internal/external drives, webcams, extra DVD/CD drives, vibrators. Yes, they exist.)
I'm also more of an Nvidia person so I can't tell you much about the vid card except that I haven't heard many negatives about it.
Sorry, no help here, I am a Macintosh user, so all foreign to me.
Redid the link on the power supply, and no, I don't have hardly any 'extras' attached to my comp except standard plus a printer that I hardly use.
both should be fine....
Not the most $$$$ powersupply.. but quite conservative and good..
Just make sure that E510 has standard connectors... they suck.
PS: while a tiny PS.. 4670 doesn't draw alot of juice.. wouldn't be suprised if it worked.
Well, it's done. Will find out in a few days on whether or not it makes a big difference.
I've swapped out vid cards before. No problems there. Swapping out a power supply will be a new experience. Just hope I don't get one of those lemon units that some people have commented on getting.
