Just in case anyone's been saving up Valor/Justice Points to upgrade their gear (meaning through the item upgrade system where you spend points to raise the ilevel of a piece of equipment slightly), you should do it ASAP because in 5.2 the NPC who upgrades your gear will be removed while Blizz continue to evaluate the impact this feature has had on the game. Apparently they've received too much negative feedback about this feature (or have seen too many disturbing number crunches in their own data, who knows?), so they're putting a hold on it with the next patch and are undecided about when it will be returning, if at all.
What this means for the players is that anyone who has already upgraded their gear will keep those upgrades, but nobody will be able to upgrade further once 5.2 comes out, so I would recommend spending Valor points on ilevel upgrades now instead of buying new pieces of gear since you can do the latter after 5.2 but not the former.
Just a quick heads up for anyone who's been using the feature. I know many of you are still working on getting pieces worth upgrading.
As an update, it seems they'll be removed in 5.2 but then probably reinstated in 5.3 (when there is no new raid content). They might stick with this pattern depending on the results and feedback.
So something for the both of you who actually read these forums to consider.
As one of the readers - Thanks for the heads up.
