As usual there are haters galore even though little in the way of concrete information has come out about the expansion yet.

I'm loving what I've heard/read about it thus far, though.  Looks like they still aren't getting rid of me this upcoming expansion either.

I had to read the whole 'Garrison' part, twice, to realize they were not talking about guild homes, but something like Age of Empires, and all of those
online flash games where you build your own towns/civilizations. I was looking forward to what LotR did for their guild housing.

At least there will be some elements that are automated. I just wished they set up Sunsong Ranch to be automated with planting/harvesting.

Perhaps..........

I like that you can kill a rare monster and hang its head in your inn or whatever.  Overall I'm pretty happy with what I read about Garrisons.  I suspect I'll be spending a lot of time there.

Hell, I like the ideas for the expansion in general...although I must have been the only one that LIKED having a linear, straightforward quest progression as opposed to the "discovery and exploration" style that Timeless Isle is modeled on.

The item squish is happening and items are getting massive changes--hit, parry, dodge, expertise, and reforging are gone.

Holy crap! Better start reading up on all the new changes cause they are bigger than we first thought!

I really won't miss the itemization change.

Just hurdles and caps that you MUST meet to start playing... it all made no sense really.

Lets remove the theory crafting from the game and make it fun to play...

If someone's DPS halves by changing out two pieces of gear with MASSIVE upgrades during the same raid... that is a broken itemization system.. ;)

I liked Reforging.... It allowed an item not exactly for your spec to bridge a gap in your gear... But like the above it was overused...

I also heard HORDE is getting a new capital city....

I watched pretty much the whole stream.  As much information as they gave out during the entirety of Blizzcon there's still a ton of stuff they didn't flesh out like they did in past expansions...which I'm kind of okay with.  More of a surprise for later.  I'm betting beta is just around the corner, though...wouldn't be surprised if keys start going out towards the end of next month.

I was happy to hear that expertise and hit were on their way out.  I understand their rationale for having them in earlier, but it was pretty frustrating when I had to get those two values to 7.50% without going over or risk "wasting" stat points.  Spent way more than I should have during that stupid balancing act.

They've said for a long time now that the numbers squish was coming during the next expansion, so that wasn't much of a surprise.  I'm on the fence on how I feel about it.  I guess I can see their point and it doesn't really matter what those numbers are ultimately, but I'm VERY concerned that it'll be a pretty hard nerf to soloing older content (since the difference in damage/level will be much smaller than before).

I was kind of hoping for some Burning Legion stuff, but if things go the way I think they'll go we'll probably be seeing them in the expansion after this one.  I just have a sneaking suspicion.  Also, I'm pretty sure "Jaina" is a Dread Lord.  I think she died during the Theramore hubbub and one of them came through in her place, which would explain why she's turned into such a mega bitch.

I'm just thankful that they are taking a lot of the pain in the ass 'swaps' out of play because they will no longer be needed.

No more reforging. Enchantments will be available for less slot items.
Gem slots will be removed from many item slots.
Items will automatically switch stats depending on which spec your toon is currently in. (No more extra sets of armor in your bags)
Vanity items will be moved out of bags and into special tabs.
Bags can be assigned to allot drops depending on if they are armor/
consumables/mats/etc.
No more 10 or 25 man raids. Will all be flex and content will adjust on number of people in raid at that time.

LOTS of stuff that is changing. Have not been this impressed since they changed all of the individual schools of magic and replaced it
with just 'spell power'.

And here I thought I was just going to look forward to the garrison.  ;D

Just realized...........if there will be less gem slots and less enchantment slots, then I wonder
what Blizz will do with those two professions to keep them as useful or enticing.

"•The devs will try to reduce the economic impact that the Enchanting and Jewelcrafting changes will make. Enchanting might be able to make some weapons or offhands. Jewelcrafters might be able to make some trinkets or other things to sell."

Pulled from an interview.
