Yea when I went to Netherlands I thought it was crazy. Out of everywhere I went in Europe that was the only place that I would see girls riding on bikes and then someone sitting comfortably on the back of a bakc like on a little rack.
It was just weird, that they looked so comfortable.
Not to mention I didn't see one unattractive girl while I was there.
Some one please define what papa would consider as an unatractive girl. Cause I have yet to meet more then 1 or 2 in my entire life and I have heard from Eg, that Papas standards are even lower then mine.
If I win the lottery, I'll see about taking a trip over there and will relay what I find with certain accuracy. ;D

Yah, the bike is like THE main form of transportation here, so it's really fairly common to see someone riding on the back of one, "sidesaddle" as it were. When they have to stop the one on the back jumps off and then helps push-start the one pedaling when they need to go again. I've actually seen a few instances of 3 people riding on one bike, and I swear it seems like small kids are just bicycle hood ornaments around here sometimes...
As far as "unattractive" women, of course there are some. You can't live in a city with such a prevalent drug culture and not see people afflicted with the ill effects. I suspect Papa spent most of his time near Dam square in a certain "district" staring through windows. ;)
bike the main form of transportation... I used to drive my car to class in college, it was about a 7 min drive where I went through 3 intersections, 2 lights, and parked in a parking ramp at 75 cents an hour :) BOOOOO for environment!!!

I made the mistake of going there on April 20th (420) so it was impossible to get a hotel or hostle so me and my friends ended up sleeping in the main park. It got below freezing at night so it wasn't very cool, expecially without jackets. But the nice coffee shops kept us supplied with plenty of natural herb to ingest to stay warm.
