Anyone know some good cures?

Wolfin's been gone alot this week :(
The only times I've ever won against insomnia were when I was both physically and mentally exhausted, Brio.
If you don't mind being slightly out of it when you first wake up, a single Tylenol-PM has also helped me in the past. Not something you want to be taking on a nightly basis, though, obviously. I took them maybe once every other week if I was having a bad run of insomnia.
They have no effect on me. Sometimes a Tylenol Severe Sinus night-time might work, but only help me stay asleep once I actually get there... :)
Benedryl doesn't work either. <grin>
If it gets too bad it's time to get the doctor-prescribed stuff. That's something I never, ever wanted to do (and thus far I've managed to avoid it *knocking on wood*), but depending on how much it's affecting your "awake" time you might want to consider making an appointment.
Thus far I've managed to get juuuust enough sleep to function well during those bad insomnia periods, but if it got much worse I'd have to go to a professional. Is yours stress related, do you think?
Oh, I'm sure that's most of it. :) Hopefully since this huge project at work was done at 330 today... life will be easier. Depending on how next week goes will determine if you see me more online :)
What i usually do is conjure up another personality. Generally I think this personality is actually another person. We then have mad cap adventures beating the crap out of each other and other people. This usually leads to a club of some sort and giant explosions.
I'll send some happy thoughts your way Brio. I've been rather lucky lately. My new job has kept me just tired enough meantally and physically that I don't have so many problems drifting off.
STAYING asleep, however...
LOL Ben...
Sounds like we are in the same boat. Even when I'm not stressed or worried, my mind has a hard time shutting up and leaving me alone so I can sleep <snicker>
Yah, that's me exactly. I have a real hard time just "shutting off" as it were. I'm constantly thinking about what I'll be doing, or should be doing, or want to be doing, etc. etc. etc...when what I REALLY want to do is sleep.
Used to have the same problem, but I found a solution. I studied self-hypnotism. It was supposed to help me play better golf or something. What it actually did was enable me to clear my mind, relax, and fall asleep in 90 seconds or less. No joking or exaggeration. Took a few months of practicing every night in bed, but it's well worth it. My golf game didn't get any better, still an 8 handicap. But there was a cool side-effect of doing it right before sleeping. Instead of taking an hour or more to fall asleep, it's now almost instant, and I've done it for so many years, it's automatic. I don't even have to think about it anymore.
It also really freaks my GF out. Sweet.
Know what happens when you bust your ass to catch things up at work? You work yourself out of a job...
"I'm sorry, it's no reflection on you, but your position has been eliminated..."
Think I might have a bit more trouble sleeping for awhile.
im sorry to hear that hope you find something soon
It is, go on Brio . .. . do the bouncey dance 'n tell em all about it hehehe....
And Brio, I could always sing you to sleep . . . ./tease
Music makes me hyper /grin/
Yes, and Bran's right. Getting laid off turned out to be a blessing in disguise, I was hired the next week by a better company for a better position with better pay. I start when I get back from NY. :)
