I know alot of us came to WoW because of our love of Blizzard. In Wolfin's case, it was Warcraft. Some came because of StarCraft. Me, I came because of Diablo.

I noticed that earlier today. I watched the gameplay trailer. Now I only hope this PC can handle the game...and that they don't take TOO long from the release of this info to come out with the actual game like they've been doing with Starcraft II.

Re-installing 2 and expansion pack. Should have enough time to complete both before 3 comes out. (Nightmare level, at least)
I stopped playing because after playing LAN with friends I discovered b.net and it was great until hackers pretty much took over and it lost it's luster to me.

I think you'll have more than enough time to get through it. Like I said, if they're doing with D3 what they've been doing with Starcraft 2, we'll all be teased mercilessly with dribs and drabs of new info for a couple of years. I hate Blizzard. But I love their games, damnit.

Is the assumption then that everyone will move to Diablo 3 and WOW will be out?
Doubtful, Kael. I imagine everyone who can will play D3 when it's out, but then they'll go back to WoW...probably within a month or so. Diablo isn't an MMO, and it has a very definite ending. I suspect the majority will play through it once and then be done with it for a while (until they get the urge to play again a few months down the road).
I fully expect the WoW player base to decline when Starcraft 2 and D3 are released, but I also expect most of them to come right back when they've "beaten" those games.
If anything will make a sizeable dent in the WoW player base, it'll most likely be the "next gen" MMO that Blizzard is currently working on.
I was actually talking to apoc about this in e-mail at work. The WoW expansion in my mind is to combat Warhammer which is supposed to be the "new" WoW type game. I think many WoW people will switch over, personally I don't plan to but I also haven't seen anything about the game. I think WoW is worried about that game and figure is the expansion doesn't take off like they hope they will rush out D3 to get more of the fan base going. If the expansion takes off like BC then they will put the D3 release back to soak up more $$.
D3 will not replace WoW in my opinion. They attract different players overall. My friends here where I live won't play WoW because of the monthly fee, but I garuntee they will be the firsts to buy D3.
the word on the street is the for the select blizzcon/WWI/arena winners, beta invites will be released thursday, if there are releasing closed beta invites already... my assumption is that WOTLK will def be out by xmas... all of the talent trees have been released for each class all the zones are done and the dungeons are done. they are makin tweaks on end raid bosses, and talent/skill affects. from what i understand wotlk is passed the 80% completion stage to the ability of the blizz game testers.

There is also no monthly subscription for D3, so there's really no reason people can't play both (which is what I plan to do...system requirements permitting).
It's a game to play when I've only got 15-20 mins or so... when I can't concentrate on WoW because something is going on and I need a pause button available. It's never replaced each other. Diablo II did not replace EQ and vice versa. Titan Quest has never replaced WoW. It's just something else to do at times. :)
Ok, then. I suppose. As long as it doesn't mean you are all leaving me...errr i mean the guild. =D
Tuef we could never leave you. ;D Guilds come and go Friendships last a very long time.
I'll be with WoW (and RTC) at LEAST until I've grown tired of the next expansion, and most likely long after that as well. I have a hard time letting go of MMO's. Especially given the time invested in my characters.
