I am Saints fan, so I am really happy with their season so far. Any thoughts from others in the guild about the NFL season thus far this year, including how your favorite teams are doing?

Yea they need to work on there first half stuff  from what I seeing they only playing 30 minutes of football.  luckly its the last 30.  But they cannot keep it up forever.  I know denver tried for like 20+ years.  They are also doing great this year.  And a couple of lucky wins does not hurt.

ummm... death to the saints... no but really they beat my G-men and now these big blue bastards lost yesterday... Eli looking real sloppy... soooooo it hasnt been a good two weeks of football.

Seriously? First half stuff? 30 minutes of football? Did you see the Saint's offensive numbers in those first two games of the season? Drew Brees threw for 9 TD's in those first 2 games. You do realise that most NFL games are at about the 3 hour mark? One quarter can take up 30 minutes. One sloppy first half against Miami does not mean that is our weakness this year. Miami played great defense and really put the pressure on Drew. In the second half we played alot better and won because of it. The Saints put up 36 points in the second half. 30 minutes of football my ass, lol. We have the most complete offense in the NFC right now. Go look up some stats. And our defense is doing great as well. Third overall last time I checked. Miami gave us a bit of a scare in the first half. What we did against the Giants was embarrassing against the #1 defense in the league, though in my opinion the Giants were over rated. They also took a second loss this week. Did you even watch the first 4 games the Saints played before their bye? Or their game against the undefeated Giants? Brees pretty much hits anyone he wants to on that offensive line. The second two games against Buffalo and Philly our defense and special teams won for us. They did a great job of slowing our offense down quite a bit. That to me says we can win on all the important fronts, be it offense, or defense and special teams.
I have been a Saints fan since I knew what football was, my father's family is from Baton Rouge, so I will be the first to tell anyone when we are just getting lucky. We have sucked for so long it is a running joke in the NFL. This year so far is not luck. Saying we are just a 30 minute team(whatever that means) is just wrong and misinformed. And no Meldor, we will not keep it up forever, we will lose, as most good teams do during the regular season,but we have a strong enough team to win our division and get into the playoffs. All that being said, who is your NFL team?

And yeah, Vichama, the Yanks are more than likely to win the world series this year. They are just playing great baseball. I am unfortunaltely a Braves fan. I think it's time for Bobby Cox to retire. He has been great for us, but it is time to rebuild that franchise.

mine is the broncos has been for a very long time,  we are having a very great year with a little luck thrown in for good measure.  and yes I like the aint's have liked them for a long time but I do not go all the fanstasy football stuff nor go I go look up all the stats.  Cause for me thery are all crap.  all that matters is how the team is playing and how there oppents are playing.  and yes it TAKEs 3 + hours to broadcast a game but the actuall time is 60 minutes of football.  And the couple of times i have gotten to watch the ainnt's play.  They are playing good enough in the first have and then the offense really kicks it up a notch in the second half.  So in my personal opioun they are only playing about 30 minutes of football.

So now feel free to slam me again if that makes you happy. ;D

*&^%*& Saints got lucky, for some reason my Fins keep self destructing in the back half of games, same thing happened against Indy.  but of course as a Dolphins fan i hate any team that beats em :P

Yeah, the friggin Phins damn near gave me a coronary before I left work to go watch the second half. And Mel, I was not "slamming", just stating some facts. I just get a lil ranty about it because ANY game we win, everyone seems to love to come up with excuses as to the how and why of it. It gets tiring to hear year after year. Your Broncos are another team to watch this year. Handing pretty boy Brady a loss always makes me happy.  ;D
