High latency

For some reason over the past couple of weeks I have had issues with game lag and high latency.  Even when my latency seems fine there is lag when looting, casting and mounting.  My computer has 4g of RAM, runs Window 7 and it says under audio/vid cards it has a REaltek High Def Audio.  Should I buy another Vid card for it and can I install one myself since this is an all in one monitor computer?

Thanks for any help I can get with this.

Just FYI, I'm pretty sure your vid card has absolutely nothing to do with your latency.  I already gave you my advice in-game, but I'm not an expert, so hopefully one will come along and post now. :D

One thing I mentioned that you missed because you logged out before I hit enter:  If there's a node down between your home connection and Blizzard's server, that's pretty much out of your hands and you'll have to grin and bear it until they fix it.  It's happened to me over here where an overseas backbone went down and I went two weeks with 9k latency on WoW.  Yuck.

Thanks, Beng.  I wondered when it was fine even after I started cataclysm and then, boom, it started getting bad.  I am still going to try the speed tester and download ccleaner to see what happens.

Blizzard has been having some strange network issues lately they haven't worked out quite yet...

Symptoms include:
* Stuck zoning (or loading into game) full blue bar and just sits there
* slow zoning, then super lag afterward
* Random bouts of super lag (several seconds in length)
* Random total disconnects [boot to log in screen at random, even when its working great]

The problem occurs almost immediately (or shortly after) zoning or loading into the game.

If this sounds similar to your problem, until they fix it you are mostly SOL.

There are a few tweaks suggested, and a functional work around including unplugging your connection during login causing a timeout makes everything work great ROFL!

Fun stuff eh?
