Darn you VENT!!!!

Ok i cannot log into vent on y laptop. I disabled all firewalls, virus programs. everything. Basically only the needed programs and vent are running. I can ping the server so i know it is running. leaving me to the proven theory that......i am a n00b. SO any ideas to cure the vent thing and possibly my n00bishness ;)

Vent came out with a new version.  Make sure you've D/Led the new vent and put in the correct stuff.

The server's up and running fine.

I do have the new version, even copying and pasting teh info in and it still doesnt work.

Not sure what you are doing but last night you kept logging iin and dropping down to a quest channel for about 5 mintues then logging back out.  not sure if that helps or not.  Also list what you have tried so far and maybe we can figure it out.

yeah i ended up getting in but mt talk button wouldnt work!!! lol. so i droped down to get it to work. BTW if u didable a firewall or close it thats not windows there is a possibility it blocks all outgoing ports except to surf the net. when i enab;ed my firewall i was good. also vista firewall blocks alot. i got software to control it.

Yea, Window vista is the worst software microsoft has come out with, many will put up with it because of the interface and it's "user friendly" design.

i did get it to worklast night killah. i did that but i didnt work. it was my firewall comodo. if u exit it out it automativcaly blocks out most ports untill restarted. when i figured it out i uninstalled it. annoying as hell user interface anyway.

i avoiding Vista like the purple plague  Hoping the next release will be much better kinda like window 98 and the ME which sucked ass followed by XP .  We went straight from 98 to XP

Gonna order 2 more gigs to put me at 4.

i run fine at 3. OS for 1. and most i ever saw a game take was 1.6. leaves me .4 to waste on random crap

WOOOT   I finally got my vent working.  Thanks to the guys in vent who were patient while i was pushing all kinds of buttone.  (Hope yins aren't deaf.)  =D
