Need a movie to Ipod converter

Hey guys.  My wife bought me an iPod video (my old iPod broke) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any FREE movie to iPod converters out there.  I'd like to import several movies (ranging from AVI's to DivX to DVD) to the thing, but so far I haven't found any converters that don't charge too much for the software.

Any help would be appreciated.

Im in the same situation and i could only find software that worked for mac. I did see a program at bestbuy for 30 bux but it just kept talkin to me about how it wont work on copywrite protected DVD's. Since i would mostly be wanting to convert my DVD collection i thought that would kinda suck.

Don't know how much this will help you, as I don't do direct-to-ipod conversions. but to take the copyright off of DVD's, there is a free program called DVD decrypter. I then use DVD shrink (another free program) to make the decrypted file the size I want, then back to DVD dycrypter to burn it.

Maybe that will give you a place to start.

i have a mac so i dono if this program exists for pc, but hand break is good stuff for ripping dvds as well and as for the converter i am still working on finding free softwear for mac to put like music videos and stuff that i have in itues but wornt convert correctly.  then again i only use computers for gaming and d/l crap
