In case you haven't been paying attention recently, Blizz has been posting some previews the past few days of what the classes in WoW can expect to see change for Cataclysm (all except Paladin, which will be released on the 16th...they're going through extensive changes).  Here's a link to the thread that links to all of the classes separately so you can peruse them at your leisure.

Cataclysm Class Previews

Two things to keep in mind:

1)  Not much is set in stone on these.  There WILL be changes for every class, but not everything that's listed is likely to go Live as-is.  So don't panic if you see something you don't like or get too excited over something you just can't wait for.

2)  Okay, so just one thing.

Dave

Yep, I'm pretty excited about these.  I can see how even the ones that are going to be initially frustrating for me are going to be better in the long run.  I LIKE having my DK tank in unholy, but I'll get over having to use blood as a tanking spec.  :P
D'oh! They deleted my sigs just because I cancelled my account and they can't find my toons. Bastards. :P

Mistell

i aint gunna lie, the changes scare me a little bit...

but i remain optamistic and hope for the best :D

I only read the warlock changes. Frankly, besides the change in soul shards, I'm not impressed. That's not saying I'm all for the soul shard change, I just don't know how it will effect my playing in combat. Only time will tell. The good news is, I can toss the soul-shard only bag for a regular one. That's about it.

From what I am seeing from the responses on the warlock thread, the only thing that baffles the hell out of me is people getting excited about spell graphics being green........... :o. That's it. My respect of players who zero in on that one thing as a plus, seriously dropped. If they wanted something so trivial as that, they could have either changed their graphic settings or just wear tinted glasses............SHEESH!.

All, in all, the warlock changes are too vague to come to any real conclusion. I'm sure that others would say that it's detailed enough, but I'm skeptical. If it's too good to be true, you know the nerf bat will be primed and ready to be used in an instant. If it actually tones us down, then all we'll get is a tissue. One can only hope that this will be play-tested to hell and back (and I do mean to the extreme)  so that the release goes smoothly and without much tinkering. I know. I'm a dreamer, but .........(shrug).

Wonder when they'll start handing out the beta-keys. I know my name will be entered at first chance I get.

Well if you ask me, and I know you didn't, all of the class previews were a bit vague, and I think that's intentional so as to forestall any future "Hey, you said this would happen!" rage events on their forums.

I'll be making a gobby lock when Cata hits, so dammit Zan you'd better still be around to give me pointers.

As far as beta goes, I believe all you need to do to sign up for the beta (which should be getting started this month, next at the latest) is go into your battlenet account and there's a section dedicated to beta opt-ins (including Starcraft and Diablo betas).

Paladin changes better be awesome since we have to wait.  Prolly nerf the pally tanks and find a way to kick our mana regen for holy.

Buffing everyone because if i don't, all I hear is bitchin'  =D

Ben, if Zanz ragequits,  which I doubt he will, I can give new locks advice as well. I learned my class with his help. Though we may disagree about the finer points of raid stats/specs, we both have a deep understanding of the class and regularly spank the dps meters.

The paladin class preview should be going up today, FYI.

I read through the hunter bits. And it sounds interesting going from mana to ogue style energy. It will change game play for hunters.  The really good news is no more arrows or bullets. I already gave up my quiver when we went to 1000 stack arrows so no biggie there unless they give us a big bag in its place.

I just hope they make the beastmaster class more group and raid friendly.
