Been hearing a few stories rambling around so i was just wondering what was going on with RTC these days?  ANy changes being made or have been made, good bad or ugly?  Grats btw on clearing KARA.  How many active raider or want to be active raiders do yall have these days?

Hey apoc,

Yea we cleared kara, trying to get our foot in the door with ZA.  Not many changes, Ulti's on an AFK from the game, Brio took over, eganti's still an ass hole and durmage is still an aggro whore.

We got about I'd say 18ish active raiders, just not generally on at the same time.  Anna we active raiders . . . well who knows with that one :)


However I did just loose my drawings in CAD about 20 min ago and I forgot to save all fuckin day so it looks like I have to do a days worth of work in a couple hours.  Luckly I don't work too hard so that won't be too hard to manage :)

Two things Papa,

1 i thought I was the Argo whore.

2.  Go see where your auto saves go you should be able to get back at least some of your work,  And make a hot key to save every so often mines QS does a saze and a zoom extends at the same time.  So that every time i zoom out i save handy trick from someone whoes been doing Cad for about 12 years now.

Papa here is the code you need

200X were X is your version of Cad we use 2008 but I have used this code since 2000.

Find the Acad200X.LSP And you will see all your hot keys

Add the code shown below in with the rest of your hot keys and restart Acad or Reload you MNU and problem solved

I am not a computer person and I read that and went,  "okay, glad he isn't telling me that."   =D

Tuef,

It a bit of Hot key code for AutoCAD.  What the code does is preformes a zoom extendes and then adds and extra 10% zoom so you can see the complete drawing.  Then it does a save.  And it ties these two functions into a two kestroke command.  So if I drawing a building or something and I want to zoom out to get a better prespective on things I type QS and hit the space bar this zooms out the drawing and saves the drawing all in one motion.  I like it cause of how I work I offten switching between looking at small details and having to zoom out to see the big picture.  Make sure if my puter crashes or does anything funky I am not loosing more then 10 or 20 minutes worth of work.  I normally do this command about once every 5 to 10 minutes.  I save alot just because I have seen it happen before and lost oh 8 full hours of hard work.

Also, helps with the other Quirk in Cad and that is if one drawing crashes and you have several open  it only makes a recovery file for 1 drawing and that 1 may not be the one your working in.

But such is the life of engineers and Archatects.

I use AutoCAD Architecture 2008 and Revit Architecture 2008 for CAD.  But at hte time I was using ACAD.

That's a cool command.  I never use zoom extents even though the standard is to zoom extent to save I am one of hte few wo constantly get yelled at about it and continue to neglect the standard :)

But i passed it on to a couple people who zoom e all the time.  Also when I do zzom extent  Ijust double click my middle mouse button.

Thanks Papa Glad I could help.  I have a whole list of hot keys as I started on Release 10 which was all keyboard commands.  I have paired it done with the use of icons but i still type most of mine as its easier to hit a 2 or 3 keystrok command then it is to hunt and peck for some of the icons.

Yea I got all my buttons off so I have a nice clean big screen.  I just use the dimensioning and text styles pull downs, layers, and the open/save/new buttons.  It's nice and clean I like it.

LOL  I understood it and I have not used AutoCAD sense 1991.  Yes,  I went to college under a architecture/engineering degree.   Changed major to Photography/Graphic design. Then dropped out!  I had a colorful college career.
